If you haven't redeemed your Groupon, you can claim a refund during the next ten days by signing into your Groupon account at www.groupon.com/mygroupons. From here, click "Claim Refund" and select a refund either to the form of payment originally used for the purchase or to your Groupon account to be used for future purchases.
Their website claims that the flight schools are no longer honoring the certificates so I don't think they're going to work... I just submitted my refund request on Groupon.

Yep, I confirmed with PilotJourney.com that you have to ask for a refund via GroupOn. The original details seemed to indicate you could only request a refund via GroupOn if you hadn't redeemed the code yet.
I'm guessing that they didn't get much money after GroupOn takes its share, so they really couldn't afford the fuel once all fees were taken out. Bad planning, but many merchants seem to be unhappy with the GroupOn service.
