Two of my tablets can output via HDMI, my phone does MHL. Does it work? Yes. Is it a huge PITA? Absolutely.

Do any of them have Tegra 3? Nope.

If you can't see the possibilities, then Android is just not for you.

why is it a huge PITA to output to HDMI?
plug in mini HDMI to phone/tablet, plug normal HDMI to TV

i didn't get it either...I figured I was missing something. I guess plugging anything in is a PITA if you have to crawl behind the TV...? (I just leave my mini HDMI plugged into the TV and the other end is velcro tied to the HDMI going to my Xbox.)

Interesting concept but how many android games are deep enough for you to really want to play them on a TV and/or have a controller in mind?

I could see it taking off but the games at launch would be meh at best I'd bet.

yes, I'd be cool with a $100 console to play those sort of games...they are all usually a lot of fun.

But...I'd wish they wouldn't throw that Free word at everything...not all the games are going to be free..."at least to try" was a nice little addition to that at least...but what will be the actual price point they are going to shoot for? $1-$5 like Android mobile? $5-$15 like XBLA? $40 to $60 like a AAA title?

Yea, it will be cheaper for developers, but that just means we are going to have 500,000 games and 490,000 of them will be shovelware crap!

i think this is just a bad idea.. no gaming console should be built on mobile hardware. With the price of the nexus 7 at only $200 and is already shipping, what is the point in waiting for 8 months to bring this out, the only difference in hardware is the HDMI port and a controller.

which the sixaxis app will let you use the PS3 controller on any android device.
There's also already HDMI output for many android devices

For $200 you can get a nexus hooked up to a TV or an OUYA with 3 controllers hooked up to a TV.

I see uses for both scenarios.

mobile hardware is what goes in your phone.. non mobile hardware is what goes in desktop computers.. which do you think is more powerful

you need to be rooted for full features of the sixaxis app (like mapping for games that don't support controllers)
