Fallout: New Vegas is a flash deal right now, but if you check Fallout 3 GOTY also shows up with 75% (4.99 total). Just a heads up.

What does everyone think of the X Superbox bundle. Liked Freelancer and Darkstar One a lot, but from quick reading online, it sounds like X series is pretty much a mess unless your main interest is economics and factory building rather than flying around and exploring/dogfighting. Price seems good, but am I right in thinking I won't like it if I'm not into games with a 10 hour learning curve?
Also, in for FO3 (had on console but not the goty) and probably NV tho I got the digital collectors a while back for $30 and never ended up playing it on account of bugs etc.. (which as I understand it are now fixed). Unfortunately, steam now only shows it up as the normal copy so I'm not even sure what I was supposed to get extra for having the Collector's. It shows me as already owning the Ultimate ed. on the store page, but doesn't say I have any of the DLC in library...
If you're a conservative and hate taxes:
http://www.bestoftheblogs.com/Home/43020 Why slickdeals I awesome: I post a deal, it gets reposted 30 minutes later. I report the repost, and slickdeals warns me for "not doing my own work" when all the new poster did was post incomplete info and add links an hour after they blatantly stole my post. Obviously, this is the right way to encourage me to post more deals. |

The combat is actually one of the better aspects of the game; the dogfights are a lot more fun than Eve online but that's not saying much. Getting a base setup properly literally involves 100's of hours of tedious flying and micro-management. The economy is terrible - everything you want to buy you'll have to supply the raw materials directly to the manufacturer because the AI does minimal trading. Things like gate travel, ship repair, mining etc... will put you to sleep in short order. The missions and main story were beyond lame. The overall concept is great and it's a lot of fun if you like space sims but it requires patience and a high level of dedication to get anything out of it. |

The FNV DLCs do not appear separately in the Steam Games Library. They will be offered in-game as a radio broadcast advising that they are "hiring", etc. or and/or a radio signal you have to investigate. If you want a detailed game and DLC breakdown of what you have installed on Steam go to your accounts page and list your "Licenses and subscriptions". Also don't try the DLCs until you have "leveled" up some in the base game. Also, stay away from the Deathclaws until you have a powerfull long range weapon. You ain't gonna outrun those muthers....

FYI for those buying Fallout 3: GOY, be aware that Steam says this (not entirely sure why though)
Notice: Fallout 3 is not optimized for Windows 7 http://store.steampowered.com/app/22370/ |

Thanks, I'll skip it then since I'm more into FL/DSO dogfighting and flying/exploration than worrying about controls and busywork. Thanks again for the helpful feedback.
What's the install size for the Ultimate Edition? I set it to dll and it's saying 6.8gb or so.
Meh, that's no real deterrent for anyone who remembers having to configure dos w/in windows to run games. Some of my favorite games aren't optimized for W7, but they still run fine with a little tweaking. Last edited by compguy; 07-16-2012 at 02:26 AM.. |

It's currently 33% off, and is $3.34. I've been debating whether I should buy it or not. It's cheap, but I've already got so many games to play, thanks to the Steam sale, as well as Humble Bundle, IndieGala, and Indie Royale. Track predictions from your favorite psychics! Played Fallout for the first time a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I have been waiting for Fallout 2 or a Fallout package deal to come around but decided to go ahead and purchase Fallout 3 GOTY and Fallout Las Vegas UE.
Any free time I might have had and just gone out the window!! |
