We use this as our meat knife; helps to have one knife and cutting board dedicated to that task. Have had it for more than 5 years and it is still sharp. Not as glamorous as our other knives but does the job for chicken etc. adequately and we don't have to worry about salmonella.

I already have this knife already and love it, so I'm in for another. Thanks! I got one of these for my sisters boyfriend for Christmas, he refused to use it, but when he finally tried it out he ended up buying the rest of the set.

Imagine a sharp knife is like a light-saber, it cuts what it touches. A dull knife is like a bent slightly pointy branch, just waiting for you to think "I'm going to hurt myself aren't I". And then it happens. That bent branch (or dull knife) literally springs into action, with you thinking "Damn it! I knew this was about to happen!". Oh, and your hand is off and you are screaming like Luke Skywalker.

Great knife, I use it to cut meat and vegetables all the time. You need to sharpen it after using it awhile, took me about a year before I sharpened the knife. On the durability side, I have used the knife since 2008/09 and it is still in great condition. The only problem is some of the pink coating by the blade came off because I sharpened the knife.
