Just a heads up about this program if people didn't know, you don't get to keep the shoes you test if you are chosen as a tester. My husband works for Nike and what they do is they will send out shoes to be worn during certain activities like running, soccer, etc and ask you for your honest feedback. You then have to return the shoes to Nike along with your participation forms. (They used to send forms, I'm not sure if they still do or if it is all by email now) I just wanted to let people know in case they thought they were going to be getting Nikes to keep.It is still a great program, but unfortunately, not a freebie program.

My kids tested Nike shoes when they were little. Toward the end, the forms had to be downloaded from the net. I think we also received a phone call or two and a few emails with each product test.

I don't believe there is compensation, my husband is on a business trip right now so I can't confirm that with him. If I remember correctly, if you are chosen, you will get a pair to try out for a certain amount of time. Then you have to document everything you like and don't like about the shoes and they want you to be brutally honest. Based on the tester's feedback, they tweak the shoes to correct what doesn't work. I do think Nike pays for postage to send the shoes back, I think they send a prepaid folder or something along those lines, but I'm not sure. Also, you MUST send the shoes back! If you don't, Nike will come after you. It is considered stolen goods if you don't return them. I hope this information helps. It has been awhile since I have heard anything about the testers program so I'm sorry if this is somewhat vague, I just wanted to make sure that people understood that this is not a freebie offer and that they don't get to keep the shoes. If you are interested in signing up, please do so. It is a great opportunity to try out some product and Nike does appreciate the feedback. They could have changed the program from when I knew about it but I do know for a fact that you will not keep the shoes you test and I'm not sure if there is any compensation of some kind.

If this is anything like how New Balance conducts their product testing program then I can guarantee there will be no compensation with Nike as with New Balance, you must return the shoes once the testing period is up and they do not send you any form of compensation. I believe they stated that also when you initially signed up with them.

Thank you for clarifying for me! It has literally been years since I have heard anything about the testers program so it is nice to hear from someone who has been through it. I don't mean to be nosy, but did you receive some sort of compensation for testing the shoes? I'm only asking because someone else asked me about it and I honestly don't know.

Thank you for your information! I didn't think they gave compensation, but I wasn't sure.

hug Anytime! Unfortunately no compensation but it still can be fun to be able to wear new shoes before they hit the stores and they make it easy by providing the pre-paid return label for when they need to be shipped back.Smilie

My kids tested them when they were little too. No compensation and the shoes went back but they did get to wear them for quite awhile.

This would be a great deal if a new pair is sent each month.

I used to do this. No compensation and you do have to return the shoes.

Apparel Test:
The wear test is either on-site or remote. You will be provided with specific instructions each time you wear test our products. On average, the test period varies from 2 weeks to 3 months for remote tests, on-site tests are only one or two days. For a remote test, a wear test package will be sent to you with instructions on how to wear the product. You will be asked to keep a wear test log and complete online surveys as requested.

Look at it this way: you get to wear the shoes for about 2 or 3 months. So what if you have to return them? If you are a serious runner or spend a lot of time outside, you will have gotten plenty of good use out of them, and didn't have to pay a dime for it. Saves your regular shoes from wear and tear, or from having to buy a pair of wrokout shoes for the season.
