From what it seems like - the ATT version of this phone will be getting Ice Cream sandwitch - but I just got off the phone with samsung usa and they said they cant confirm 100% if this phone will get ICS, probably will but he transferred me samsung canada.
The guy in samsung canada first said this phone has already ice cream sandwitch 4.0 in canada for rogers, but then he ended up saying he was looking at the wrong phone, and I ended up going back and forth with him asking is it going to at least it get it for sure - I dont need a date - just yes or no because in the U.S it shows that it will be getting the ICS but there is no date{which is good enough for me as long as its coming}, but the moron kept saying we are not in the U.S and we dont know and even mentioned that if it gets the ICS in canada - the phone must have a Rogers service since Rogers is the one who will be providing the update.
Sometimes I wonder who hires these people....

So any one in here can confirm if this phone has or will be getting ICS? It has Android 2.3 now which is kind of lame considering jellybean is already out for the Galaxy Nexus

i wouldn't mind switching to verizon but my t-mobile plan is dirt cheap, I would never pick sprint though too many limitations

they will both get ICS the ATT one can be flashed to this model.

Ok, Im not so interested in flashing it - Im talking about the over the air official update or over the computer official update - will that be possible to do here in the States?

You could potentially do it through kies which is the official way to upgrade on samsung devices, it'll be out the same time as ATT. This was the case for the Note, which just got ICS via kies.

me personally? i would never upgrade my device via kies it's not too safe i bricked one of my phones a long time ago.

if you root your gauranteed an update + it's a lot harder to brick your device considering you can always boot into recovery mode.

I guess kies is the software to update the phone, which is I guess what would be the official update - or I assume if they would have over the air that would be better.

Well any way, it seems like a pretty good phone for the price, Dual Core Tegra 2 processor, 1 gig of Ram, screen resolution is 480 X 800 but its Super Amoled just like the S2, seems like a great deal, and since ICS is coming - the phone should be good at least for another two years at least.
