And those are oh so attractive! Look at my nice solid surface top with chrome/brass/nickel plugs! I could maybe live with stainless steel plugs in a stainless steel sink, but not on a Solid surface top!

Who cares??? Anyone with design taste. For a basic rental unit, sure it's OK, but not in my house!. A P-Lam top "works just as well" too, so why don't you get one instead of spending money on SS?.... It's also about the look and style, not just how well they work. I'm not saying that there aren't any nice wideset faucets, it's just that single hole faucets are typically my preference. If you have the same preferance, just be aware these tops won't be the best option for you. Thats all. The manufacturer could have saved some cost by not predrilling them and sold them as blanks to the field prepped.

A local stone fabricator will fab real grainte vainty tops for about $40/sf with sink. So fo a 3' vanity = $240-300. Certainly not as chep as this deal, but I wouldn't consider buying any stone or quartz top at a home center that costs any more than that.

I thought these were Quartz? If so, you should use a diamond blade. Anything else would significantly chip the top unless is is mostly resin (filler) with a little bit of stone mixed in/

Yes, "silly" would be a good way to put it, unless you have a bridge saw and diamond shaping tools. Otherwise, it would take a lot of work shaping and polishing to make it look decent.

it was just a option.. i was assuming you put a hand soap on one side and just put the other with a plug that matches

Once it show store pick it that means they are sold out.. pick up will be a special order.. you probably will not get it.. but you might be offered a replacement

OK guys I bought one of the 49" last night while it was still in stock, decided to do "ship to store" to get free shipping.

Then I measured (hey it's SD right? Buy first!) and found out that in my early-70s home the vanity isn't exactly 49"--more like 48.25" or so. It's one of those homes where the vanity/sink is in the master bedroom and it's built in (so it's enclosed by drywall on both sides). Furthermore the depth of my current countertop is 21.5" and this top (and it appears all tops now) is 22" deep.

Sooooo. Yeah... Is it going to be a problem trying to trim a third of an inch off of both sides? Can the extra half inch depth be trimmed off the back or is the included back splash pre-glued on? I hate to cut the front just because that part would show. I guess I could also try just letting it stick out the half inch, but not sure if that would look odd.

I'd also like to replace the built-in vanity as it is very basic (no drawers, just a large cabinet). OP, do you know if any of the clearance vanity SKUs you listed are 48" widths? I'd like to find something that's at least plywood rather than MDF, but would rather not spend more than a few hundred bucks.

when you measured the depth did you include the back splash? the 22" counters go on a 21.375" vanity.. you might bave a top that does not have much over hang.. extra .5" might not be a issue there.. i looked at the 49" i have.. looks like there might be .25"-.5" space between the back splash and the faucet.. do have any room to cut.. .25" at best..

for the sides you can always cut it.. or bring it some where to have them cut it.. lots of videos on you tube for cutting stone.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3...re=related .. you dont need to cut it wet that is just for dust...

check home depot.. they changed the models they sell in the store recently and put the rest on clearance 50-75% off depending on your store..

backsplash is a separate piece that you attach on your own after you finish. i can't speak for the cutting thing though..
