I have an SSD and I did the steps to activate TRIM.

Hard Disk Sentinel checks the real usage of TRIM for each appropriate devices (one-by-one). If it displays "disabled", it means there is a problem with the driver of the hard disk controller (if both the OS and SSD should support TRIM). Usually updating this driver from the may help. If not, using a different hard disk controller
may also helpful. This is true even tough the other shows TRIM working... right now TRIM is not working on your system. |

Hard Disk Sentinel doesn't have octane on their tested SSD list:
http://www.hdsentinel. OCZ has a working forum. It would be a better source to get your answer there. You should probably post the model number of your octane drive since there is more than one 128GB octane on newegg page. |

Heres my Crutial M4 64GB result....
The status of the solid state disk is PERFECT. Problematic or weak sectors were not found. The TRIM feature of the SSD is supported and enabled for optimal performance. The health is determined by SSD specific S.M.A.R.T. attribute(s): #202 Percentage Of The Rated Lifetime Used No actions needed. |

Here is the exact drive I have
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...682022776 Now that I look at those specs, my drive is performing a little less.
I'm using Windows 7 professional 64bit so both the drive and the OS support the feature.

What mode is your SATA controller in?
Steve Gibson on password policies [grc.com]: I mean, I don't get this change it every eight weeks. ... It's not as if passwords are traveling by camel after they've been stolen, going to the bad guys, and so there's, like, some weird eight-week window, like, oh, we're going to change your password so that the stale password no longer works. ... And all this does is make IT people despised because users, who are not dumb, they think, why am I - why do I have to do this? What problem is this solving?
