I never bother with contacting a CSR about the $5 credit and I've registered my PS3 on day 1.

Just 2 days ago, the $5 pop up out of nowhere onto my account and can be used on anything. I was about to make a preorder and the $5 is just there as a promo code.

I registered 1 PS3 and got the $5 instant video credit. I have a 2nd PS3 I've never registered. Can I register that one too and get another $5 instant video credit in the same account?

In other words, is it 1 $5 credit per Amazon account (regardless of the number of PS3s) or 1 $5 credit per PS3 registered?

That's a good question, I don't see any limitations per account.

I registered the day it was launched. I just did a chat, was transferred to someone in the Instant Video dept., asked if they would give me the credit retroactively for being a loyal customer... BAM! Credit granted.

I have a $5 Amazon Instant Video credit in my account, but I have no idea why. It showed up in my account a few days ago. I don't own a PS3. I have a Xbox 360, a Panasonic Blu-ray player and a Roku though. I've registered each of these devices in the past and I received $5 credit on my Roku and Panasonic Blu-ray player. I don't think I ever got anything when I registered my Xbox 360 though. I wonder if this credit is for my Xbox 360.

I thought I had an extra $5 credit too, but I forgot it was a leftover from the digital copy code for Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol where they gave $14.99 but it only cost $9.99 to own.

I also registered a 2nd PS3 in my account and got another $5 credit, so it's cool that it's 1 per PS3 and not 1 per account.

AFAIK, registering a PS3 is the only device where you currently get a promo credit? No promos for Xbox 360s or any other devices right now?

I also did a chat with Amazon CSR since I previously had my PS3 registered. Asked about credit, got transferred, asked again, got denied, asked for exception, granted credit, celebrate!

First time using Amazon Chat, very positive. And as said before, my credit balance has $5 in AMAZON MP3, AMAZON INSTANT VIDEO, KINDLE EDITIONS, SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES, APPS FOR ANDROID. But I know it's just a glitch.

It's not really a glitch: The CSR simply gave you $5 general Amazon credit that can be used on anything (basically like a gift card), so it counts towards all these categories (but not separately).
