I've never had good wings anywhere besides here, though. I think I've just been spoiled.

Haha, I thought the same thing when I read that. Anyone that calls them hot wings, I don't have a lot of confidence that they'll taste legit. And you better not dip them in ranch dressing, dammit.

I think "Buffalo wings" is a silly name, and I'm also not in Buffalo
And I don't eat them with anything, no ranch or blue cheese or anything else. Just delicious wingy goodness. I do use Texas Pete's instead of Frank's because I think it tastes better, though.

Drives me nuts when some national chain comes up with "Buffalo Style" (pizza/sub/whatever) and it's with ranch dressing. The heck, people!

DH likes wings with the Tabasco brand habanero sauce. Texas Pete's and Franks are both too mild, IMHO. Only I don't make the wings, just buy the precooked/frozen section TJ's wings. Then add some heat by mixing the habanero sauce with a little water so I can coat all the wings evenly before throwing them in the oven to heat up.

I think, at least after a couple of trial and error attempts, that I can top pretty much any restaurant meal, at least to my own taste. So for this question I will try to come up with some things that I do prefer in a restaurant to making at home.

The first one to come to mine is General Tso's Chicken. I've tried making it a few times but have never come close it turning out the way I like it.

Pretty much any sandwich except maybe a hamburger. I don't know why but they always seem better when someone else makes them. I think a lot of it is just in the presentation. I've made some awesome sandwiches over the years but even though they taste great they certainly wouldn't ever make it for the photograph on a menu.

A big breakfast. Not that I can't equal or beat the food part but it is so much better to sit down to a huge breakfast with french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage and fried potatoes without having to get up an go through all the effort to make it. Also, I do tend to struggle a bit with getting the eggs to come out the way I like.

I'm sure there are more but those are the ones that come to mind right now.
