I tried hooking up the Non-Sonic one, and it doesn't work. Maybe the sonic is different.

Anyone know if I can use this, while it is being charged. Meaning, can I have it plugged in, and still be able to use the device? Since the battery life is not all that good, I don't want to be sitting at work waiting for it to recharge. Thanks for any info.

Clear is great - where it works. It's radio frequency gives it weaker building penetration and outside of specific cities (and inside parts of them) there is no coverage. It really comes down to where you go with it. Most of Houston has pretty solid coverage, but there are gaps.

If you know someone with a Sprint 4G phone (Not the new LTE phones), you can expect identical coverage to what they get on their phone with a Clear hotspot. With the Clear desktop modems, you get a good bit better coverage than the hotspots. I've seen the modems pull in a decent signal where my 4G (WiMax) phone and tablet got nothing.

You cannot hook up the older ZTE model. You can hook up the Sonic. Take a look at the "Device Features" Section [t-mobile.com] for confirmation.

I purchased the 4G Mobile Hotspot, with $25 pre-paid card recently for the same price and felt it was a slick deal, now the Sonic 4G Mobile Hotspot with $25 pre-paid card is being offered for the same price.

I believe it should be usable with ANY T-Mobile mobile broadband plan, prepay, monthly, or contract. You might want to get confirmation from T-Mobile to be sure though.

I'm buying it to replace my contract ZTE hotspot. I can use the extra speed and the USB tethering.

It won't work with a SIM tied to a phone plan. It will work with a mobile broadband SIM. This has been confirmed in other threads.

Looks like they may be running credit checks too, just a heads up for anyone.

They asked me about the vehicles I have owned, and the age of my father, so I believe they are running checks on credit. May be invasive or not... but wanted to make sure peeps knew as I am trying to refi!
