I come to satisfy my avaricious nature without breaking the bank.
I stay because it makes me feel good to see that out of all this consumerism and greed a community based on altruism can thrive. |

In 4 a survey!
And to show my appreciation for this site!!! To pay full price or not to pay full price..That is the question.

I'm only here because fate dictated it.
The ironically disappointed "no hdmi" joke was entertaining in 2010, growing a bit stale by 2011, became embarrassing to see it still being used in 2012, and now... downright pathetic in 2013. Don't be that guy.

The sweet deals that are posted and also the community, where else can you get candid opinions on a deal or product. Also, if there are issues and questions, they quickly get discussed and resolved in the thread.
Slickest Deals $19 - 3 days 2 nights, MGM Grand Deluxe Suite, RT air, Limo to and from Airport ~$100 - 13 Pairs of Pumas, a scarf, socks, shirt, track jacket, and a bonus gift card $.01 - Epson Artisan 835 wireless all in one $50 - Xbox 360 with 20GB HD $5 - Staples Torrent Leather Chair $300 - Chase Freedom Cash |

Site is the easiest to navigate and visually appealing IMO out of all the deal sites. I originally came from one of the other deal sites permanently after my first year of being a deal shopper and using both sites.
Wow, I think I'm seeing the slickdeal effect on a survey about slickdeals. Survey company should give slickdeal a discount. Last edited by marinemerchant; 07-16-2012 at 12:52 PM.. |

The community seems strong and people enjoy sharing the deals rather than hoarding them for themselves in most cases. In general most people are helpful. I think being rewarded for your input with reps and such also makes you feel appreciated.
I love the Sweepstakes and Deals sections. My only complaint... if anyone has a deal regarding any religion or belief system, it is my opinion that they will be attacked and massive thumbs downs despite the actual "deal" or "value". That drives me away occasionally, but I always come back. You're welcome Internet!

I'm here for the deals--both to post and to view.
IMHO you guys should give more bonuses to people who do the hard work of finding, posting, evaluating, and explaining deals. There are so many leechers here who can't even be bothered to help out at all... I've practically single-handedly made entire wiki entries and long posts answering users' questions with hardly anyone else helping out, and it gets old after a while... especially after the tenth dumb question over PM--I try hard to help, but I am not your personal tech support! A system beyond just "rep" would be nice, since people get repped just for hanging out in the forums... like chatting in the Lounge. A step in the right direction is rewarding users who post Front Page deals with extra tickets in the sweepstakes, but that doesn't reward people who evaluate and explain deals. Maybe make it so only rep you receive in deal threads counts towards extra tickets in the sweepstakes (if this isn't implemented already). And since hardly anyone wins sweepstakes maybe just make it straight up cashback or something. Btw I think the main reason why you guys are winning the battle vs other deal sites like FW is because you understand the above at some level and aren't idiotic like FW which hardly does squat for their non-leechers. But if another deal site comes along that rewards their non-leechers better, it could mean trouble... SD was that site, and look at how pathetic FW has shriveled up now. But someone could do the same to you. So good job for now, but don't rest on your laurels!

Because I never knew I could get over $2000 in cashback just applying for creditcards.
or have American Express pay for my roundtrip to Japan twice, get upgraded to business class for free on the return trip, and get Delta Sky Club access for free. That and they also paid for my night in Singapore. Oh and Chase helped pay for my Nexus 7, and the new HDTV and Google TV I got for my parents last Xmas. Oh and yeah the other random thousands of dollars I probably save each year. And I'm still in college. And I haven't even done the couponing of this site yet. Oh and I would have never even known Sony had a class action lawsuit on our TV and would upgrade our old Sony to a new 55" Bravia EX7 class for only $250, if this site didn't let me know. I tell my friends and they don't believe me. You think I pay for all the nice stuff I have at retail?
