I had this card a lil while back. It has great OC potential. I was able to get my card up to 1GHZ when testing it out, but I ended up getting a 570. From my experience the 570 didnt overclock as well as the 560. Sometimes thats just the way it is.

Unless you like spending almost twice as much money for such little extra power, I'd suggest the GTX 560 SE instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6814130770
Comparison: http://www.hwcompare.com/11128/ge...60-ti-448/ It's only $109 after a $10 rebate, comes with PS Elements ($80+) instead of some NBA game ($30), and draws much less power. I don't think that $90 is really worth 10-15% gains in specs and rates, plus lesser software. |

I'm LOLing at the abundance of uninformed newbies spewing misinformation in here concerning the ti448 cards. These are NOT 560 cards, they are neutered 570 cards. The lesser number of shaders doesn't mean that these cards have lesser performance than a regular 570, it means that they run cooler (far cooler with the twinfrozr setup) than the 570s and SAFELY overclock far higher. Mine are clocked up over 1ghz and have never passed 65c under a full load.
Here are a few reviews of the MSI OC/PE cards (not to be confused with the vanilla 448 cards) Some of the reviewers didn't have the time, inclination or knowlege to properly oc these cards to their fullest extent but you can see from reading that they will outrun a 570 (even overclocked) and keep up with a stock clocked 580 in some benchies. http://www.overclockersclub.com/r..._pe/6.html http://www.techpowerup.com/review...II/17.html http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1790/10/ http://www.tweaktown.com/articles...index.html If you are running a pair of these in SLI you can safely add 40-70% fps to the 1900x1200 benchmarks depending on the game. They scale quite well.

I got the 570 in ran both games and got the 60 fps on Crysis no problemo and got the extra fps when running Skyrim as well on stock speed. Although with this card I havent broken 1GHZ, I can easily get it passed 925Mhz and have it run stable with minimal fan noise. Plus it only cost around 25-30 bucks more to get it, after selling off the old card, so I did. I actually got the 570 by the mistake of an Ebay seller. I was looking to get an unlockable MSI Twin Frozr 2GB 6950 at the time and the seller I bought from sent me the 570 by accident instead. I was a little upset about it at first as I specifically wanted the 6950 to unlock it, OC it, to have a card with minimum vram of 2GB and be ready with Eyefinity whenever I finally pickup that 3rd monitor. Anyway since this upgrade from wouldn't need further tweaks for my hackintosh build (of which I rarely use the MAC portion as it was just to test) it performed well and I kept it considering it was selling for much more at the time I bought it. Drivers???????????
Got this card for my daughter and have been less than happy trying to find any info on driver updates. I've read several horror stories from people who tried to update drivers and reading the forums @ nvidia.com no one seems to know which if any of the driver updates will work on the -448 560TI,Any useful info anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. |
