Check this site to see when you will be getting LTE.
http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic...ning-list/ I have Evo LTE, and 3G is quite slow, even though it's faster than a lot of sprint users in the country. I am getting 1000kbps down, 500kbps up btw, WiMax is great in NYC. |

It's an insider's blog with the latest information/rumors of when and where 4g is rolling out. [EDIT] Hah MyAmex beat me to it by 1 min. I'm in Nashville and should be getting LTE in one of the next waves, sometime this year. Also have Evo 4G LTE and I agree, 3G is quite slow. I've been dealing with my Verizon friends mocking my network speed.

iphone 5 is probably a LTE ready device. My advice is to wait for iphone 5 in October. Get it and sell it for profit. You can buy a Galaxy S2 or even Galaxy S3 for cheap. I bought my like new HTC Evo LTE for $350 on ebay. You can probably sell your iphone 5 for more than $600. |

EDIT: Here is the map. [s4gru.com] If there are towers coming to your area of Chicago, I would probably go with an LTE phone. You can get one now or later, up to you... it'll work on the 3g network until your LTE towers are online, obviously. Last edited by JMUFly; 07-17-2012 at 07:11 AM.. Slickest deals:

Im in a conundrum as i have an original Sero plan 500 minutes unlimited text data nights and weekends yada yada yada ... for $30. I used my TP2 till it gave up the ghost of life and then i kinda "repaired" the esn on an Evo 4G to make it usable on my account (everything works except 4G ). Now im eligable for an upgrade and really want a new phone but i just cant justify increasing my base price from 30 to 50 in one shot (ie 10 to convert to sero premium to get access to the premium phones and then the extra 10 for the smartphone data charges).
Im looking at the Galaxy 3 or the Evo LTE BUT still im finiding it hard to change my plan. My Slickdeals so far
1) Compaq mini 110 - $89 -->used for one year then sold for 150 2) Acer aspire one 722 netbook-- $200--Used 8 months, sold for 230 3) HP Touchpad - $99--stolen ![]() |

Personally, I would probably wait for LTE in that situation... but I had the TP2 until this Spring, so I am the type willing to suffer to save a few bucks...

I chose the EVO 4g lte yesterday, but I don't think you can go wrong with either. My reason was partly aesthetic (I love it in the new white color), because I love the dedicated shutter release button, and I like that it is closer to stock android ice cream sandwich (but I am a android fan, so this may not apply to you). Both have compelling features, it is just a matter of preference, I think. |
