I'd hate to get locked into a 4G device for the next 2 years knowing that Sprint is due to go 4G LTE soon.

Sprint 4G LTE Launch Extends to 15 Cities Throughout Portions of Georgia, Kansas, Missouri and Texas [sprint.com] however it will be at least two years before we get LTE in my area. But I do get Sprint 4G WiMax coverage, so I picked up a Samsung Galaxy Sll for $0.99 two weeks ago. Works great! Shipping was fast and free. Sprint did not charge me for activation.

The Galaxy Nexus for $49.99 has Ultra-fast 4G LTE speeds and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

Did the price of the Everything Data 450 plan (before $10 premium data charge) go from $89 to $99 recently?

I am not sure since we have had the Everything Data Family- with Any Mobile, Anytime for several years. With three people sharing 1500 minutes we rarely go over 300 minutes used in a month because all cell to cell calls are free.

You can try the Everything Data with 450 minutes for $69.99 + ($10 BS smartphone fee). Unlimited domestic calls from the Sprint network to and from ANY U.S. mobile phone regardless of carrier. Any network, any time.

P.S. I do not work for Sprint, nor do any of my friends or family. If they did, I'd be on a SERO plan damn it!

Apparently, this does not apply to SERO accounts.

I did not see SERO mentioned on any of the webpages, but I do not think Sprint will let you buy one of these phones directly from them for $0.99 without switching off SERO to a modern plan.

You can try to print out the Sprint sale prices, then take them to Best Buy or Radio Shack and ask for a price match. I have read that some Best Buy associates have been able to get Sprint to activate an upgrade smartphone on a Sero Premium plan (Sero-P). So there is a chance that you can get the phones on sale with a price match.

Good hunting!

Thanks. The key to getting a SERO upgrade is to call Sprint before you buy and ask if your new phone from Best Buy or Radio Shack is compatible with SERO-P. If they say no, hang up and keep calling. When you get a rep that says you should still be able to stay on the same plan have them note your account stating that. If BB wants to sell you an Everything plan, just buy the phone and go home to activate it. Call Sprint and have them switch your plan back to SERO-P.

getting kinda mad at Sprint. In Detroit not only do we not have LTE, we don't even have freakin 4G. I have had my evo for 2 years running 3G. Getting kinda old. Thinking of letting my contract expire next month and moving on.

And still paying $10/month for premium data (or whatever it is called). I feel your pain. I'm not in a big city but our 4G clearwire coverage is spotty at best.

Have Touch Pro. Run XDandroid on it some. Would like to pick up the $49 galaxy nexus but not sure about activating yet since I rely on the Touch Pro for some stuff.

Can I get the deal without activating the nexus right away? Seems like I recall reading that they will charge your acct if you don't activate the new phone.

At checkout I had to enter a card for payment of the $0.99 and it was charged, but then the $0.99 was applied to next months bill where the charge for the phone showed up. I activated right away so I don't know if the activation resulted in the charge on my bill.
