I went to the range last night to hit My new driver as well as the new Cleveland 3w I picked up a few days ago. I loved the Cleveland. Low to medium penetrating ball flight and dead straight off the tee and fairway. The octane driver I had mixed results. Some good drives that I think we're long but it was getting late and hard to tell distance at this particular range. I also some of my typical misses. I'm typically a drawer of the ball. My misses are either a big high slice or a low duck hook. I saw both of those from this driver. Maybe more than I would typically see from my cobra 460sz. I'm playing tomorrow and I'm bringing both drivers. I'll start with the octane but if I can't get it under control I'll switch back to my cobra.

Another thing of note is the sound of the ball off the driver. It is very muted. Almost feels like you are hitting some old worn out range ball.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up cutting this driver down 1" to 1 1/2" shorter.

Anybody who got a matching diablo octane headcover wanna trade for a generic one + cash or something? I specifically ordered one that said Headcover: Callaway Original Matching but got a generic. Callaway says i am out of luck so I am willing to buy or trade for a diablo octane headcover, please pm me.

Thanks OP. I picked up a 9.5 stiff flex diablo octane driver for $53 with the coupon and free overnight shipping.

Be careful for those who are buying, when I placed the order with the free shipping coupon, the 40% discount disappeared after I clicked the submit button. I had to call in to get the CSR to fix it and give me the credit.

Also, I placed the order on Wednesday morning, but it didn't get shipped until Thursday morning, and then I just checked today that they shipped it with 2 day next air AM instead of overnight.

I can't complain since it's still free shipping, but just a heads up for everyone.

How did you get free overnight shipping? That code hasn't worked since Tuesday afternoon of the sale? I can't get it cheaper than $62.99. If I could get down to $54 I'd bite...

I got home and unboxed my 9.5* driver and 3 wood and they were both still in all plastic with stickers on them. I also received both matching diablo covers (one of them brand new in plastic).

I just got back from the range because I wanted to try them out. I am VERY happy with them. I think the 10.5* might have been slightly better for me, but I did pretty well with the 9.5*. I was hitting it about 225ish in the air with the occasional 250 which is pretty good for me. Now I just need to work on my slice a little bit more. I was hitting the 3 wood about 200 or so.

I also got the irons from the other deal and they are supposed to be here tomorrow. I am still deciding on a new bag and have it narrowed down to three:
1) Ogio Sprint - $101.99
2) Taylormade R11 Pure Lite - $104.99
3) Callaway X-22 - $89.99

I would lean towards the Ogio, but the straps worry me. They seem to have the poorest designed straps (mainly the ring where the straps meet).

I just want to share this spray that I use to remove the sticky stickers on the golf shafts, since many beginners jumped on this deal. You can get from Home Depot.
