$250-$350 Laptop

My Asus m50vm laptop died today, I'm not sure what happened, I replaced the thermal paste as I do every year, it worked fine for an hr or two, I left it alone, and now it won't boot, won't even post or enter bios. Tried checking the paste, resetting bios, switching out ram with only 1 stick, nothing works. Temps were fine last night as well.

Anyway looking for a new laptop now, I'd really like a $300 2nd gen core i3 laptop with 4GB of ram. hard drive capacity is unimportant. I keep seeing deals for refurbs at this price point but none are currently available, and I desperately need a laptop.

So far all I can find today is the $500 lenovo at staples with 3rd gen core i5, 750gb hdd, 8gb ram, etc. It sounds nice and is an upgrade from what I have which had a 9600m gs gpu and 2.53ghz dual core c2d with 4gb ddr 800mhz ram, but not sure I want to spend that much.

Can anyone help me find something cheap and decent?
