What cable do i need for internal 3.0 bay?
I am wanting to add this into my current desktop.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6817145088 Now i already ordered a usb 3.0 PCI express card that i will plug into the motherboard. Then the usb 3.0 cable from the internal bay above will plug into one of those two slots. The problem i am having it this. The bay i linked above is powered by molex. My desktop doesn't have molex power supply.Only sata and 1 4 pin floppy connector coming off the power supply. All the sata connections are used up so that only leaves me with the 4 pin floppy connector to use. What convert cable do i need? Male floppy to female molex or female floppy to male molex? My desktop is a dell inspiron 530 |

From the picture of the device it looks like it plugs into the rear USB 3.0 port and runs into this device or did I miss something. So the idea is to get 4 front USB ports...right?
Maybe this what your looking for http://www.performance-pcs.com/ca...OP2MOLEX-C Last edited by repitall; 07-17-2012 at 09:30 PM.. |

You can use a Y splitter if you have another molex in the system.
http://www.amazon.com/Computer-Mo...B001PI9AAC My bad. Never seen a power supply without molex. Last edited by evongugg; 07-18-2012 at 05:37 AM.. |

I looked in the case again today and there is no molex cable anywhere period.
There are four sata connections and one 4 pin floppy connection. The sata connections are paired up in twos and the floppy connection comes off of one of the sata connections. Looks like i am just going to go with the 4 pin male floppy connector to molex since it will be the simplest. Only problem though is that it doesnt seem to be a very common cable so its hard to find at the normal places like amazon/ebay. |

SATA to molex adapters [amazon.com] are a dime a dozen. so if you truly have no molex connections in your PC, just use an adapter.

What about my power supply? Will it be able to handle everything i have plus this internal hub?
