Just wondering are the ATH-M3X's? The m10's are out of stock atm

I am going to pull the trigger on the coiled black version of these. Anyone recommend the modified version with removable cable for 29.00? is the extra money worth it?

I'm not sure how I'd feel about them modifying these headphones, but they are an authorized Audio Technica dealer. Edit: Here [soundprofessionals.com] is a link that seems to have a better picture regarding how they modify the cable and what it typically costs. It carries a 5-year warranty from TSP.

Thanks OP! I own several different pair of headphones and I keep coming back to the M50's for some reason. I have the coiled version. If you're using these with a portable player, or stationary (@ computer), go coiled imo. The straight cable is looong.

You guys might think I'm crazy but I'm in for another pair.. this time white!

I'm so close to pulling the trigger for these but i want the modified version but I'm worried about the lack of sound quality or how durable it will be after the removable mod has been done. I definitely need some help on deciding...has anyone had any problems with the removable mod on the ath-m50's? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!.

I've been watching these headphones for months now and finally decided to snag a pair. I decided on the coiled with the modified cable. Let's hope it was a smart choice. I've got a couple pairs of headphones right now but ever since my last studio set finally died I've been missing their sound. They had a straight cable and it was always getting tangled so for those undecided I suggest the coiled cable. Hopefully it won't take too long for them to ship.
