If you read it says this is the R model aka Re-introduced. Came out as a 2010 model but these clubs are from 2012

Which makes me wonder if Callaway just made 500,000 sets of these, they didn't sell well at all so they've sold them out to wholesales (like this guy possibly) who are now reselling for super cheap. I'm not an "avid" watcher this closely to what a deal is or isn't but it seems to good to be true. Y

From what I understand, the "remake" or "reissue" of a club is usually done by a club manufacturer when the particular model actually does really well the first time around and they want to offer it up as a value set in order to give a golfer with a tighter budget a chance to upgrade their clubs without having to pay through the nose for the newest models/technology. Considering that these clubs fall into the "Super Game Improvement" tier of irons, and are geared toward people looking to improve high handicaps into slightly less high handicaps without spending $500+ on a brand new set, I think it makes sense for them to use their existing materials/forms/processes to manufacture a club that they will still be making a profit on by selling it to a slightly different demographic then they did the first time around.

Then again, that is understanding of the situation and I could be wrong.

You are over thinking it. This is a solid deal.

Callaway and other manufacturers have routinely reintroduced prev generation clubs before. Ie X20 with NewGrooves or X20-NG.

If my set wasn't kinda new, I would have jumped on this. Its a great set, it looks awesome, long, forgiving, game improvement type, bang for the buck...

For comparison... the avg cost of drivers ( the newer ones) are about $200. My Adidas ATV 360 golf shoe is $100... Top of the line golf balls are about $45 a dozen..

So, this set at $220.. is so slick when you think about it..

I love the way it's sturdy and stylish. The 7 way divider distributes 14 clubs evenly, and the water bottle pouch is perfectly designed for walkers. The strap is very comfortable and is easy to put on and remove. The only draw back I'll say is the weight, a bit on the heavy side (6lbs). And also as most Callaway products, it's more pricey and harder to find a good deal.

Well I hate SD website!! No way I needed these since I barely use my Adams hybrid set that I picked up a few years ago. But with all the reviews and the price, shipping inlcuded...who knows...maybe I whack a few in the weeks to come...
