After years of dreaming, we're finally making our first trip to Hawaii! We managed to find a decent deal on the flight and hotel but the rental car is killing me. I can't believe rental cars are so expensive now! I did a fair bit of price hunt but I am wondering if there is something better out there. Here's what I found:
Expedia: Convertible for $508 at Alamo (I'd like a Convertible )
Kayak: Compact for $430 at A1 Rent A Car (Never heard of the company. Is it reliable?)
Hotwire: Economy for $313
I also tried a lot of coupons from rentalcarmomma.com, mousesavers.com and urlhasbeenblocked.com but couldn't get under $450.
The Hotwire rate is great, but it requires me to pay upfront and I am not comfortable doing that right now(may decide not to rent a car for our trip).
Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for finding a better deal?
Just found a website called vroomvroomvroom.com. It seems to be offering better rates than what I found on Kayak and Expedia. I found a SUV from Budget for $388!!! I don't need to pay upfront and I can cancel at any time. Has anyone heard about this site? Is it legit?
