Get a $200 Costco cash card if you order through Costco. cw.directv.com

Save $10 for 20 months by ordering through AAA. Call 1-800-370-3578.

Get a $150 Best Buy gift card if you activate service and spend $399 or more at Best Buy. bestbuy.directv.com

You may also stack the Directv referral discount. Use an existing Direct TV customer as your referral and you and the referral will each save $10 for 10 months. You must order service through the specific means above and then prior to your installation date call 877-848-4623 with your referral account to have them add this discount. You cannot order through the referral line and then call for the Costco, AAA, or Best Buy deal. You can however stack the referral discount and the Costco discount easily by completing your order online.

Any questions, please ask. Numerous posters on this board have Directv and there have been numerous money saving threads on here as well. Directv is one of the easier companies to get discounts and perks through.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Try this number for the Refer a Friend hotline.......877-848-4623

REMEMBER: Referrals are STRICTLY prohibited on Slickdeals. Do not ask for or offer referrals.

Just ask a local friend if they have AAA.. All you need is the first 8 of their membership number. DTV does not verify it's your account.

Weird, with a HD DVR, I get a $10 advanced fee discount, with an HD Recevier I do not, so it is $29.99 for either...whats up with that? Yesterday I got the $10 discount if I signed up for HD Receiver only...

The $10 discount is for HD so you get it on either. If you have a DVR and Whole Home DVR service that is an additional $10....so $20 total with HD....then you get a $10 discount for HD so your net charge is $10 for HD DVR Whole Home Service.

You only pay the $10 DVR/Whole Home one time per account. So you could have 4 HD DVRs and only pay the $10 once.

So you don't pay the $6/mo for the 4 receivers (in reference to choice exta)?
Yes you still pay those....per the OP...."Additional receiver fee, after 1st, of $6 each."

But, there was a $10 credit on the HD receiver only for that fee that showed up for the prior deal for me, but not now (unless I do HD DVR, I only want the receiver) - I had a $19.99 price at Choice Xtra now with Choice I have $29.99 or $34.99 for some reason.

I left DirectTV when this feud with Viacom started couple years (when DirectTV cut Versus and replaced it with a note telling viewers to complain to Viacom). Now it is extended to Nick and comedy central and more. Who knows how long subscribers will be without basic channels. I would not return to DirectTV right now even if it were free.

OP, thanks for the posting. My brother is looking into switching from cable to satellite, and I think I can get him on Directv now. Referral money to me. Who is that in your avatar?

I ask because I'm a current customer and just hit 13 mo into my 24 mo deal, and want to swap my regular receiver for hd one, but don't want to pay $99 for the receiver.

As a current (locked in) subscriber...it's too bad they have the contract dispute with Viacom. I would rather see them dump...oh...CNN, MSNBC (well, the entire NBC family liberal propaganda machine), and all reality programming (which has as much basis in reality as professional wrestling).

While I miss Paladia, I fear my television would probably contract an STD or two if I were skimming channels and came in contact with, even for a millisecond, MTV and Jersey Shore.

Why have a dish at all. You can watch Faux News with rabbit ears. In fact, it's even better without rabbit ears.

And plus you will get a good screwing in the end
Yep, after my contract ran out I went OTA and it's great (and FREE). Only thing I miss are some sports, but my cable internet gets ESPN3, so that helps.

Can you get the AAA deal by ordering online and putting in an AAA deal or must you call the 800 number? I am not a member but a family member is. I am a costco member but would rather have the AAA deal.

agree on that.. no south park/ dailyshow/colbert show is a no deal for me. but i would be in the very few people who watch these i suppose...

More than you think.

Most of the remaining "basic channels" you have to flip thru are 24/7 infomercial trash. D-TV sub is gone in 5 1/2 months -- can't wait!

you should call the retention dept. and let them know how disappointed you are about the viacom fiasco. then, ask you to work something for you. I was offered free hd dvr + free installation 3 times but declined because of contract extension.
