good player we have 6 in the home, no Amazon Prime support means we are looking for other options

I have had one for about six months, been sitting unconnected on my desk for awhile, since I got two of the Sony refurbished wifi players for $10 each.

The wtv player plays mkv files over the wifi if your connection is good, you almost need a wired connection to get great results all the time (I tried various setups, including using a linksys router loaded with DD-WRT connecting in wireless bridge mode on the 5GHz band). Otherwise large files will buffer unless you are in primo optimal wifi conditions. The one downer for me was that it could not play windows media center .wtv extension files.

I record shows using a cable card on a pc in the basement that doubles as my media server. The sony player plays them flawlessly with the built in wifi connection.

I was a little dissappointed in this player after messing around with it for awhile . In the end, I use the sony players the tvs that get minimal watching (such as the kitchen tv). I ended up purchasing the $100 foxconn barebones and added ram/harddrive I had already, installed xbmc and haven't looked back since then.

I don't find the UI laggy at all, especially compared to Rokus. This is a steal for $60.

Did you update the Firmware? I don't experience any lag. Maybe your running an older firmware that had many bugs
