As a New Yorker, I dont care about Lin, Dolan, or any of the other guys that are richer than I am. But i just have one question..

If your the star at your job, and one of the most important meetings of the year that could boost your company happened when you were "only" feeling 85% well enough to be there and decided it would be best to sit out... Would your boss really want you there after? How many of us could get away with that 85% excuse?

Houston Rockets roster shows Lin making $762k [go.com] for the next season!! What are you referring to with $43 million?

And what kills me is he goes back to rework the deal saying NY would match. He would have made that $4 million difference in his first year alone just in endorsement deals just being in NY. I hope he has fun in Houston, they are headed no where fast.

You can't blame him for wanting guaranteed money. Isn't him against endorsements or something? Besides, endorsement is a crapshoot; if he sucked and got moved to coming off the bench after 20 games, not sure how much endorsements he would get anyways.

Okay this is enough Knicks talk for me.

Just my personal opinion but Jeremy Lin is a good player but hasn't proved anything in the NBA and probably does not deserve the huge contract that Houston offered him...He's played what 25 games and has been pretty good to great in half of them? He got completed exposed, especially on defense, when matched up with a better than-decent point guard like Rajon Rondo. Houston was smart with the whole "poison pill" thing on the offer sheet but Knicks were equally as smart to let him go. Raymond Felton is, at this point, anyways a much better player. That said, I want to see Lin improve and succeed in Houston (he might have a hard time, at least initially, with all the great point guards in the West, CP3, Westbrook and Nash), and if he does, it will be a great pick up for Houston and the whole Asian community down there.

You know nothing about New York. Do you know how many Asians are there? Like it or not, he's their face, and companies will throw money at him to appeal to a certain crowd. 4 million EASY, especially if he's decent, which he was during his short run in 2012.

I think the Knicks made a mistake by not signing him, but I don't blame them for not spending that kind of money on what could be a flash in the pan. I think Lin is more of an idiot to no accept the Knicks offer... to stay in the Big Apple with his face out there, capable of making money... to go to the Rockets who have absolutely nothing for the foreseeable future. Lin will be a free agent again before the rockets can do anything in the very strong West.
