You are correct. I have had 5 OCZ Drives. All failed with 30 days. Fortunately we bought them locally and were able to get a refund.
You could not give me an OCZ Drive. From research we have discovered that they do not have access to top grade DRAM(they depend on a number of different manufacturers and use different DRAM Chips in the same Models, they buy from whoever gives them the best deal which means they are usually not getting the best grade) and have very poor firmware.

i dont know, but my OCZ drive is running strong after 3 months. hasnt faulted on me yet

I can't agree with you more on your quality concerns. Corsair appears to have been doing the same thing with Sata II sandforce drives. Failure rates are sky high. See my sig for details. I suggest avoid this unless you are using it as a scratch drive. Then it is a great deal! Until you waste $10 and hours of time on 2 RMAs throughout its lifetime.

In the last 3 weeks I have had one microcenter labeled 60GB (adata manufacturered) sandforce and one Corsair (115GB) sandforce drive fail.

Don't forget your 5% cashback with discover.

I paid 200$ for this drive a few months ago and it works fine. IMO, any modern ssd, including sandforce ones shouldn't fail.

it is not really the NAND which is causing the issues, it is their firmware (which talks to the NAND and the controller).

they also use Intel/Micron NANDs, so definitely it is not the NAND.
