Thread Details

I was at my local Costco (WA State) and noticed an end cap of Nutiva organic extra-virgin coconut oil in a 78 oz container for $21.99. I don't know how many stores it shipped to, but this is the lowest price I've seen in awhile.

Nice price. Since it appears Nutiva has produced a specially-sized container for Costco--normal retail Nutiva jumps from 54oz. to 1 gallon sizes--I bet these will be showing up nationwide soon enough.

I believe it is used for popcorn machines. That is what I have been interested in it for. I'm sure it's for other stuff as well.

yes,,, or in smoothies... or by the spoonful... or in your coffee... as a little extra MCT energy boost... you can google evco or extra virgin coconut oil and find tons of info, uses, videos etc... its not a CURE for anything per say..but it has many good health benefits as long as its calculated into your caloric needs... you do need some saturated fat,,, esp this non processed type of evco that has no trans fat, is full of MCTs in the from a lauric acid.... good stuff!

A sweet ass tan at the beach. nod

I've used many different coconut oils for years and recently went Nutivia through Amazon SS due to convenience, price and quality...I think it's one of the best out there, actually.

At $22+ tax at Costco you're looking at $.30/oz which is pretty good.

Check out Wilderness Family Naturals sale right now. Depending on your location and shipping, you can probably beat $.30/oz if you buy 5 gallons. It's essentially the same oil, perhaps a little more "fresh" tasting (for a cold-pressed, organic coconut oil from the Philippines, anyway).

That is my question too. There are no Costco or Sam's within about 2 hrs of me.

Sometimes the membership desk will give you a one-day shopping pass, but I think there's a 5% surcharge.

I do some cooking with Coconut Oil, but mainly use it externally...skin softener after showering, and I've been using it as a facial moisturizer for several months and my complexion is the best it's ever been. Much cheaper than any artificial products the make-up counter sells!
