need printer advice - cheapest cost per page possible
I do a lot of printing for my personal business and my samsung laser was great but it finally wore out. I got in on the brother laser printer but you cant buy the generic toner refills for it and the drum wore out much faster than the samsung. So its time for something new. I dont really care about the base cost of the printer as long as its not above $300. I mostly do text and bw prints. It would be awesome if I could print white on colored paper but thats not a requirement. Any advice? |

it really depends on how much you really print per year. when i used to work in electronic stores i would get bored during closing and just inspect the labels and boxes for electronics(sometimes computer, printers w/e i was in the mood for) if you were printing under 5k a year, i'd say go with brother and switch for a new 1 every year when they go on sale for about $70 at staples. i actually got 1 for my friend for only $30 (hl 2240).
if you were printing more than 2000+ page a month, and color is a must! go with the hp office-jet 7500(generics are about $20)when they are on sale for about $120 lowest and replace yearly or 2. personally i have a canon d420 that i got for free(after $100 rebate) and was going to resell it until my Samsung laser printer starting crapping out on me. i had it for about a year now and it is great, starter toner just ran out and last longer than stated. i just got a generic(canon 104 toner) for about $6 a month ago and I've printed 200 pages so far so good, but if it makes it to even 1,000 pages i will be happy. i am a college student so i don't do much printing thou. i will be printing a few more hundred pages of summer home-work for my coisins next week to do. so message me if you haven't decided by then for status of how it works. Newegg-$100 [newegg.com] great reviews on newegg except for 1 dummie, i have win 7(64bit) and it installs fine Last edited by TheHiddenOne; 07-21-2012 at 07:41 PM.. |

I've been happy with my Dell 2330dn laser monochrome printer. I have other similar model numbers by Dell. I use Dell branded toner refills, but they are economical using their toner exchange program. They used to be manufactured by Lexmark and probably still are. They do make a ca-chunk noise every so often at rest, so I wouldn't put one in my bedroom, but I'm used to it now. They go on sale quite often and are also available through the Dell outlet refurbished.
