Also, for my P220, I have 6 extra mags, the three that came with the one I bought used that hold 7, and 3 extended 10 rounders that I bought strait from Sig (unfortunately there are no 3rd party manufacturers for P220 mags that I could find (like MecGar) that make QUALITY P220 mags). The GOOD news is that Sig is GREAT about giving discounts if you ask, I think when I bought the 3 10 rd P220 extended mags, I asked for 30% off, and the response was "hold on a sec... sure, we can do that". So basically perfet for CA, right at the mag cap limit, and you have 10+1 of 230 gr (or 185 if you want I guess) of goodness in one of these bad boys. The extended mags do stick out about 1.5", but no big deal for me as it is one of my home protection and range pistols, and 10 rds is the sweet spot for me for range shooting before having to swap mags, i.e. I have put enough through to get what I consider a statistically good enough grouping (especially with the occasional fliers) to see what I need to work on. . I like that in my 1911, P238, etc. because I have repeatedly trained myself to disengage the safety during the draw, but not so much with my P22x as when I am holding those I am used to the DA/SA, and don't want to screw with my muscle memory. My hand knows based on what it is drawing (the feel of the grip) what to do based on repetitive practicing, and a SAO P22X would confuse it I think . I have seen some outstanding deals on DAK, SAO, and DAO Sig P22x's, and I think the reason why is that no one wants those, at least not compared to the DA/SA design that made the Sig P22x series so popular. Unfortunately, a lot of the used Sig P22Xs I see on the used market are previous LEO guns, and more often than not they are DAK/DAO, from what I have read the LEO's looking for a contract would only buy those, so Sig modified their DA/SA design to give the LEOs what they wanted. According to my CCW instructor (25 yr KCPD veteran), the reason why is that quite a few LEOs have had accidental discharges while handling, cleaning, etc. their weapons (and according to him, when an injury is involved, by far the most common penetration point is the leg for LEOs). Therefore when making a new order/weapon choice for issue, the departments typically try to issue weapons that are as easy to use while being as safe as possible, and then of course any LEO is allowed to purchase whatever they want to carry if they would like (within certain boundaries, i.e. they cannot go buy a Thompson Chicago Piano as their primary carry weapon ). That is another reason why Glocks are so popular with LEOs besides the reason I already described, the DA only with trigger safety is a very easy to use yet extremely safe pistol. BTW, not trying to say LEO's are idiots, rather than they are trying to account for the least common denominator and the fact that LEOs are the most likely of anyone to be in a high stress situation where unless they have trained extensively(where many do not ), remembering to disengage a manual safety could be the difference between life and death, and not all LEO's are created equal. Some will barely make their range minimums (if they have any range time requirements), while others I have shot with are incredible... just depends on the person I guess, and whether firearms are their thing or not. Also, given LEOs are more likely to end up in a stressful fire situation, their departments want them to have firearms with as few possibilities for not firing because the LEO forgot to disengage the safety, it is unreliable, etc. (aka 1911 carried C&L'ed, or like the SAO Sig you linked). With the Glocks, the Sig DAO/DAK or DA/SA, M&P's, xDs and several others there are no manual safeties, hence their popularity, you draw the weapon, you pull the trigger, and it fires without having to disengage a manual safety, which is HUGE, both for LEOs and your typical civilian in a stressful situation. .

.Ironically, on of my favorite carries is this one: http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogPr...trace.aspx , and I usually carry this one as my ankle BUG: http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogPr...laser.aspx, although mine is different (older version I guess, bought used for $499), you can see it here next to my Mustang: http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...stcount=48. I was planning on upgrading the P238 to a P938, but after reading about all of the issues with the 938(FTE mainly), I think I will wait a bit .I carry them both C&L'ed, and I have never had to use them in a "situation", but I have practiced A LOT on the range with drawing while disengaging the safety, trying to get to 2 sec or less before I have a sight picture (or given they both have lasers, sometimes I practice hip shooting with the laser from draw, 2xcenter of mass, 2xhead). After that crap in Aurora in the theater and the dude having body armor, I am gonna practice more on the 2xhead no doubt .I do rotate though(xD SC, P229 EQ, etc.)... and am getting better with my hand knowing what to do depending on what grip it feels, but MAN it takes a lot of practice! I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't just move to carrying only safetly less, but I really LOVE the 1911, and can drive tacks with both it and the P238 without trying very hard (and that is when I am using the sights). Not so much with my xD, Glock, etc., and I have practiced with those more than I have my 1911's(my other fav 1911 is the Ruger SR1911 I just picked up, I carry that sometimes as well) and the P238, I don't really get it. I love all stainless (obviously from my earlier posts ), and that SR1911 got everything else right too, LOVE IT. I was using it as an EDC for a short while with a hybrid IWB (http://www.ebay.com/itm/270904900966). Great holster for a GREAT price, highly recommended if you are gonna IWB carry your SR1911. It was a bit too big/heavy for me (mainly only bothered me when I was driving, other than that with the hybrid holster it was great, no printing and very comfortable), so I got a shoulder rig for it instead for winter carry under the jacket. Depending on your frame and what you drive (i.e. if you don't have side bolsters from hell like my car does) then you may not have an issue with using it for EDC if you were thinking about using it for that. It is a tack driver man, and nothing but quality. It was my first 1911 after a LONG while of owning one, but because of that one, I got the smaller and lighter Sig C3-CTC (Commander/Officer sized grip and barrel, stainless slide and alloy frame, CT laser grips, $835 from gundeals.com), which is my main EDC now. Still on my list to get non ST version of some Sig P22X's for carry... only so much $ though, and the ones I want will take some major saving up . I occasionally carry my P229 Equinox, but it is in perfect condition, and is too pretty! They also have that Sig all Stainless 1911 POW set with the KABAR, Pelican Case, etc. for $1049 at PSA: http://palmettostatearmory.com/in...w-mia.html , yet another one I keep *almost* hitting submit on checkout but don't, cos I would have a hard time shooting it(it is a collectors gun, but I don't think I can own a gun I cannot shoot, especially a 1911, and yes I know I could shoot it, but it would be a real internal struggle I don't wanna deal with ), but looks like another fine 1911(all stainless of course), and a fine deal considering the exclusivity, the included Kabar, and best of the best Pelican case.

I just got an email from Buds saying they had an inventory error and they cannot ship the weapon! I understand inventory errors occur, but I placed my order on July 22nd, and they have only just now told me. I paid cash which means they have been sitting on my money for a week and a half. This was my first order with Buds and though their reputation seems strong, it's not a good first impression for me.
