Just give everyone an update, I saw this on Costco.com summer online-only banner, and it states the promotion ends on 8/19/2012. Most likely it will go back up to $99.99 for awhile once promotion ends. Won't hurt to give a try and like everyone else said, Costco.com has great return policy. Also, the ZX carbon fiber series price have stayed at around $99.99-$129.99 so $79.99 is really a good deal.

I got mine delivered, unpacked it and was playing around with it, and no matter what I did, I could not loosen the ball head adjustment knob. I could just barely move the ball head around, but not amount of hand turning would get the knob to move and lessen the grip on the ball. I ended up returning it to costco today, and now i'm debating whether I should try again or not. It seemed wonderfully stable and everything worked great, I'm assuming they're not all being sold with that knob cranked down so hard it can't be moved

Mine worked great. Didn't have any issues with the ball head adjustment knobs. You should give it another try :-)
