Which motherboard is better?
Hi, I'm sorta new on these things but I was wondering if I can get some answers here. Which motherboard is better? This ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS or this ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard? Was wondering what the differences are. Thanks

They're both pretty good, asrock one has 2 more sata 3 ports over the asus, while the asus had a couple things the asrock doesn't such as a pci express 2 slot and display port capability for the onboard graphics.
The choice really comes down to personal preference, which aesthetics you like better, etc. They are both in the top 3 motherboard manufacturers along with gigabyte. |

I'm mainly using this as a HTPC, its probably more than what I need but its ok. I found these boards on amazon, one of which was on the FP deal the Asrock one

Amongst gamers, Asus has been considered number one for several years, but one should be aware of the different standards that people use to establish what is better and what is worse.
For a gamer and/or a power hungry puter maniac, the more stuff you can connect and the greater the motherboard's ability to overclock, the higher rating these people would give it. I, on the other hand, rate boards by durability, stability, resistance, along with a decent amount of connectivity, and even overclocking is not an essential. To the OP: It might be more productive to establish which type of "better" you are looking for. Let's call one (the gamer's choice) "Flexibility" and the other (rough and tough) "Durability". Which one would you like? PS: You can't have both, unless you are willing to pay a premium price. |
