I thought RA's current coupon policy (April 6, 2012) is you "cannot" used a BOGO Q with a BOGO sale.

I just don't want to get any of my cashier's in trouble. In fact just last night at one of my stores they mentioned their SM was going to go over the coupon policies with them and give them copies because they didn't even have copies they could refer to. We even discussed the BOGO Q's with a BOGO sale and I told them its too bad RA no longer has that policy, because Wags and CVS now accept BOGO MQ's on a BOGO sale.

I totally agree with your logic that they "should" allow us to use them, as RA is giving us one free item, and the manufacturer would be giving us the 2nd free item (RA being reimbursed for that). I have no clue why RA used to allow it and then changed it but it definitely seems like they did and I've no longer been using BOGO MQ's at RA on BOGO sales.

Please tell me I'm wrong. I'd love to start using them again but I'd need something in writing from RA to show the managers/cashiers.

I did it for months without it being an issue. Then went to a store down the street, bought 8 BOGO speedsticks and tried to use 2 BOGO coupons and got nowhere!

I tried to explain my logic and also said the store down the street allowed me. Manager could not wrap her brain around what I was saying....but really she was not listening at all - just hearing BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale.

Well....THEN, when I return to my fav store, the manager approaches me as soon as I walk in the door. He quizzes me on the BOGO policy and I already know what he's talking about (this was a Tues and the issue had happened the Sat before). I explained the case to him and he shut me down, saying 'oh no!!! you can't use a bogo coupon on a bogo sale!"

Well, I took a risk and contacted corporate - really more upset about being profiled from store to store and confronted in the middle of cosmetics at fav store. I explained how RA has gotten all of my rx business since Jan '12 (expresscripts) and I work with an office full of folks who need a pharmacy other than walgreens - a quibble over $7.xx / interpretation of BOGO policy was not something that I thought one store manager should be phoning another store manager about.

I was welcomed to return to either store to use my BOGO coupons on the items that I am paying full price for. So I definitely would not say that it is completely within policy - you may have to do some convincing.

I am not seeing many deals this week, am I missing something??

There are a couple cashout opportunities this week in the Rogaine MIR again if you didn't buy it a few weeks ago and the RA brand Omerprazole $10 gas card.

While some stores may allow this usage, I believe it is against the policy since it says the BOGO q cannot be used in conjunction with a BOGO promotion, and all 4 items are part of the BOGO promotion.

I agree more with what chrashduff had said in the beginning of the post - it's a way to "work around" the policy. To me, working "around" and working "in line with" are two very different things. 'Course I just might be the Lone Ranger on this one...

Yay, I get a week off from RA. Lol. Though all the UPS i got this week expire on the 19th. Hope the week after is decent. Luckily, there hasn't been one that has seen me everyday.

heres the skinny after a LENGTHY chat with LP....

the intent with no BOGO Q on BOGO sale was to prevent the clearing of shelves(ha ha, we all know the shelf mins are way too low...) and RA at this point just doesnt have the available capital to keep up with that kind of demand....

furthermore, my post said "work around the dilemma"....not the policy...the dilemma is many people shop at more than 1 drug store, this leads to confusion when only 1 out of the 3 does not let you bogo/bogoQ.....anyway, my question for LP was this,

"if olay cleansers are on sale bogo, but the bars of olay soap are not, and i have a MFQ for buy any olay cleanser and get a free olay bar of soap, ......can i buy 2 of the cleansers with one of the soaps and use the bogoQ for the soap since the cleansers are part of(in conjunction with) the bogo sale?"

answer: "sure theres no problem with that"

i proceeded to ask, "would it matter if the soap was also bogo sale?"

answer : "no, b/c you are still paying for the 1st item which is the cleanser. The idea is for the customer to pay for one in order to get the second one free"

i took it a step further.. ..i asked, " if i buy 4 items that are bogo sale, how many am i actually paying for?"

answer: "2 b/c the second one is free each time on a bogo sale"

i replied, "yes, so what if i used a bogo Q on the 1st and 3rd item since im paying for them and the 2nd and 4th are already free due to bogo sale?"

answer: (he walks away on his cell.....returns and says) "that is ok to do, a bit complicated but as long as you arent walking up with 2 items that are bogo and handing over a bogoQ and walking out paying nothing, you will be fine"

thats an almost word for word convo with corporate LP rep.....i have learned to not just assume things like this, its much easier, with less drama and backlash, to simply go ask a question..worst they can do is tell me no right?

in short, i have no issue with handling the bogo/bogo Q dilemma as i already posted HERE.....alone or not, once someone who knows what they are talking about gives me the green light, i see no reason to over-complicate an already multi-layered shopping experience with RA!

Err... If that’s truly RA’s intent, you're only making the shelf clearing problem worse cuz now with one coupon you’re getting four items instead of two .

Sorry, Chris, but I’m not buying that the “dilemma” you were working around has anything to do with people shopping at multiple drugstores with differing policies . If you read back in the thread (including your convo with the LP), it’s pretty clear that the “dilemma” you were working around is RA’s policy.
