Ok this may be a stupid question but I can't seem to find anything specific/don't know what to look for exactly.
Does this monitor have audio in/out built in? And will I be able to use it as a tv? |

It's a nice monitor, big and bright...
lack of HDMI port is a downside. Why HDMI port? Use the audio bypass feature, and eliminated the audio cable that is often contributory in picking up unwanted noises from analog cable, just like connecting to speaker via toslink optical cables. |

![]() I ordered one of Amazon, and it's arriving tomorrow, but I don't see the point of having HDMI or speakers in the first place. These are what, 1 watt speakers? Personally I would add a sound system, but even your nephews old PC speakers are going to sound 100x better than the built in speakers. The way people are saying 'No HDMI, no way' on every single monitor/TV deal here, I must be missing something. Why is HDMI so crucially important for some in a monitor? |

As I've previously stated, it will eliminate the susceptibility to low frequency hums resulted from cables magnetic interference. From my own personal experience, I almost trashed a decent pair of speakers; the humming noise added to annoying high pitched whining noise, this HDMI interface completely eliminated old problem, and my old pair of speakers sound just like new. |

1) Viewing angles are a complete joke. Moving your head even 1" to the left or right yields color distortion. 2) Ghosting. This can be fixed by disabling Overdrive. But in so doing your pixels are not 2ms, they are now 5ms. In addition this ghosting can't be turned off permanently, it has to be done manually every time. 3) Color dithering. 4) Stand barely works and has only tilt adjustment This monitor isn't horrid for $164 but if you like colors to be accurate, save up for a dell u2412 at least. Totally worth it. Great rebate Companies:
Patriot Memory (4myrebate.com): 6 Weeks Tiger Direct (4myrebate): 3 weeks Rain-X (in house): 3 weeks BAD BAD MAIL IN REBATE COMPANIES: Xigmatek 26 weeks, 14 emails, 2 phone calls (finally received) NZXT 21 weeks, 4 phone calls. Check that was finally received was dated 2 months earlier with a 90 day expiration on it, giving me about 25 days to cash it. Shady shady shady. |
