It is my understanding that only the 16gb models will be available for retail. The 8gb models are being sold at cost from the Play Store ($199). There is no profit shipping and selling through a retailer.

Both units are the same though, unlike some recent tablets (Nook Tablet).

I picked up one of these yesterday.

It's impressive for a full featured 7" tablet, I just continue to be disappointed at the apps that are made for Android tablets.

There's just way too many of them that are nothing more than stretched out versions of the phone app. I can think of 4 pretty big apps right off the bat that I use normally:

- ESPN Scorecenter
- Ebay
- Pandora
- Facebook

Not exactly small-time companies. Their apps just aren't made for the larget tablet screens, they're blown up phone apps. The Ebay app for iPad is really, really nice, and the Android version is just awful in comparison. And you could say similar things for the others listed.

Android is a great OS, but the tablet apps really tend to be disappointing if you've seen the same on the iPad. If that weren't the case, I could potentially see myself switching to Android full time. But when I go back to the iPad I just can't help but think how insufficient the Android apps are in comparison.

For $200/$250, it's worth it. But you're absolutely getting a better overall experience on the iPad.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have both the Ipad and the Nexus and the android apps really do feel like someone just rushed to get something out there and didn't pay too much attention if it functioned well or not. I really do love the apps on the Ipad.
