i've mentioned elsewhere that my 1022 lasted just over 30 days before it went up in smoke. seemed to have been related to the hdmi, it definitely had that fried electronics stink. too bad because, as i've said elsewhere as well, i really enjoyed the receiver while it worked.

I'm trying to cancel my order after reading some reviews and finding out its only 80 watts. Have a Yamaha v665 (90 watts) powering some BP6's (Def Tech) and I want to be able to match that performance (putting these speakers with a new receiver in the living room - needs to be 3D compatible).

Any deals on 90watter?

Also don't need any of the fancy network stuff because I will be hooking it up to my PC via HDMI

FTC ratings at full bandwitch and .08THD is only capable of 80 watts into 2 speakers, or channels. When you introduce more speakers or channels, that 80 watts drops quickly. It may only be 30 or so watts into 5-7 channels. That's why it's important to use a subwoofer, and cross it over at 80Hz. And to not use speakers less than 8 ohms, or rated lower than 93dB if possible. There's just not enough heat sink area to soak up the heat generated in less efficient speakers.
