Comcast $29.99 Xfinity Blast for 1 Year, YMMY

50 Mbps? I'm paying ~$35 for Blast Plus (2-year contract that started 13 months ago) and I'm supposed to be getting around 32 Mbps. I wonder if I'll get over 50 Mbps with mine being Blast Plus, and not just Blast.

This seems like a good deal, but as you stated, YMMV.

The ad said, they will double the speed of blast and the next higher bandwidth (forgot, the name). They keep on mentioning that on the radio here in MD. Comcast said it will become 50Mbps and 100Mbps respectively.

I wish Comcast were here in FL... Their prices are so much better than Cox and AT&T.

Comcast just released a 300 Mbps line, so I wouldn't be surprised if they double up their lines.

You got a fast connection but what's your bandwidth cap? Speed alone is just one side of the equation. Some put a bandwidth cap so small that I can use it up in 5 days! The faster speed you get, the faster you can reach your cap. THen what do you do for the rest of the month? AOL dial up???

I get 250GB a month, which I can monitor at any time (the update is delayed by up to three hours). According to Comcast, if I go over it three times in six months, they would be contact me and have a chat with me.

In the last year, I went over it twice, but the speed remained the same. Even after I pass 250GB, I can still use it. The last time I realized I passed 250GB, I thought I might as well just use more, so I use about 500GB that month.

I usually go crazy with my downloads near the end of each month to ensure that I use at least 230GB. I feel like this bandwidth cap by Comcast makes me use even more of their bandwidth because I don't want to "waste" any of it.

Actually, I just signed up for Comcast recently and there's (temporarily) no bandwidth allowance, as per a recent change [comcast.com]. However, representative did say they would contact you if they noticed any erratic usage -- I wonder if they're cracking down on some of those torrenters

Yep, but the proposed plans (which begin in their Nashville test market on August 1) only raise the cap to 300 with options to purchase more bandwidth at $10/50GB is still ridiculous. Seriously, if all you do is stream 1080p movies, that is like only 10 movies a month!

If your family uses alot of bandwidth, in a few months this won't be a good deal.

They plan to charge $10 extra for every 50GBs you use in a few months.

The worst customer service I've ever seen, and if you plan on cancelling be prepared to pay a fee regardless due to a "verbal agreement" even if you didn't say anything they'll even lie and say they have a recording of you agreeing to some terms and if you try to play smart with them they'll automatically charge you the fee. Comcast has amazing internet connection, but man what a terrible company.

lol 100mb/s with a 300GB cap/ month. Someone smarter them me will have to do the math but it sounds like you could reach the cap in 24000 seconds or 6.7 hours? am I wrong?
that said 100mb/s would be sweeeeeeeeet.

Is it $19.99 PER MONTH? "$19.99/year" is totally different.
