Seagate 1.5 TB FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra Portable USB 3.0 for $94.99 + taxes, 1 TB for $79.99 + taxes after instant rebates
Seagate 1.5 TB FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra Portable USB 3.0
Costco has this item listed for $109.99 with a $15 dollar instant rebate. Total comes out to $94.99 plus taxes. This is the cheapest deal I have seen for this hard drive in a little while. I'm a newbie slick dealer so sorry if this isn't a slick deal.
I also remember seeing the 1 TB edition for $79.99 plus taxes (after rebates). Pretty close to the Hitachi deal we saw a couple weeks ago.
My first deal made to the front page 6/25/07
My best deal EVER for post-it 7/30/07 (870 replies - 57,000 views - 300 rep points)
My other FP deal: FoL Men's pocket tee $2 Kmart (11/2/08)
fourth FP Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II on 10/26/11
Got Lego imperial flagship for $75 thx to Google offer, TRU and Amazon
Bought $650 worth of software at Staples 12/18/11 and around $1200 within a month
Can you post an image of the receipt to verify the price? Also, since it is not listed on the Costco website, good idea to put B&M, if you did buy it in store and to put YMMV in case others don't get that deal. Where did you see it listed exactly (online, in-store)?
If you're comfy with a refurb (6 month warranty — does anyone have experience?), grassroots-computers on eBay regularly auctions these off with winning bids of US$80-90 [ebay.com] including shipping, but I think people are catching on. So for a few bucks more, a new one may be compelling.
Also remember that fairly unique to this particular model, you can detach the back connector and get a different one [seagate.com] (like Firewire or Thunderbolt).
I wonder when Seagate will introduce 2TB portables; WD has had one for several months but they're close to $200.
I had bought one of these for $120 a month ago from Costco, luckly it happend when it did as I took the reciept back and they adjusted. If you do not do it with in the first 30 days you still have 90 days to return it, then buy a new one. Sucks you will loose whats on it but hay $25 is $25.
Oh and I love this thing... nice and sleek... I know people would want something bigger now days but for the price its nice to be able to slip in your backpack or pocket.
You could have just bought the new one first and then returned it with the old receipt.
I do this pretty often as well when they put out a coupon or instant rebate or clearance shortly after I buy something. I just bring along my old receipt, buy the item again at the new lower price, and on my way out, stop by the front desk to return the item with the old receipt.
