Comcast Current Customer How to get deals?

ben7337 313 July 25, 2012 at 05:20 PM
I'm wondering if someone can give me any tips for dealing with comcast to get a deal.

Right now we pay about $109 for digital starter cable and performance internet.

The only deal I can find is for $29.99 for 6 months for the blast internet.

sadly one of my cable boxes gives us some, but not all of the digital preferred channels, as a result we want to switch to the digital preferred plan. It would be fine to pay $109.99 for blast and digital preferred so long as they are that price either without contract, or so that is the average price over the contract.

Can anyone help? Is it possible to get a discount on the cable? $86.95 just for TV sounds insane to me, we used to pay $40 for almost the exact same channels like 10 years ago.

As I see it the best I can do is $29.99 blast and $86.95 cable which is $116.95. If they could just budge a little bit over their deal I'd be happy.

Just call them. You have an opportunity to upgrade both tv and internet. This is what they told me - for existing customers deals possible only with upgrade. Your bundle right now (at our zip) 69.99 + free modem and free router+ 100 cashback. You can upgrade TV for 10$ - total 79.99 (+ DVR (do they still charge for it?).

Yup, just call. You can play the game of pretending you want to cancel & see what they offer, or you can straight up ask them what promotions you're eligible for. All depends on the rep you get (and what's actually available) as to what they might offer you.

there are no deals for current customers, you are much better off canceling and reordering. If you have to use a different name.

What I do is call and say i'm going to cancel to go to (name company here) and they will ask why I am choosing that company and I tell them straight out that they have way too high of prices (I pay $70 for internet alone) and for $90 I can get 100mbs from another company (I can't really because their lines are in place to my house...yet...) So I basicly bluff my way to a better price. I've only had to actually cancel the service once to get a better deal under my wifes name but then we moved and I got them to give me another better deal when I "re-activated" my old account. So really you could also just switch back and forth to your wife's account and your account every 6-12 months.(?) Not sure if they would charge you fee's but I've always told them to clear all fee's when they come out. But I have been told I am very lucky with their Customer Support (As it sucks) and almost always get it my way.

that doesn't work if you are already getting a deal or recently got one in the past.

I've had them go back to back on the $30 introduction internet package for me. I've been meaning to call them again for another price break since i'm back up to $70. Although my area is a joke with comcast, they own SLC =(.

it might depend on where you live and what is available in your area. I know my area is limited. We do not get fios.it might depend on where you live and what is available in your area. I know my area is limited. I have never been able to get the $30 bucks for Internet back to back. I always have to cancel and reapply.
