Tungsten Carbide's melting point is almost 3000C. Lava usually only gets to 1000C, now if only Sauron made his ring out of carbide...

Dr. Leaky, we've found some odd Hominid fossils, or maybe even an entirely seperate genus. It looks like there may be some kind of dwarf Neanderthal variety, as well as these small Hominids. They were buried in the ash from that ancient volcanic eruption. There's something very odd, it almost looks like a ring...
