I dont mind getting this but I read that it doesnt work well with compress file like zip and I will use this mainly for recording shows using the Window Media Center.

With SSD its instant recording ( I think so). When I am short on SSD space, I move some of my recording to mechanical drive. Dont dont if it make sense. |

The delayed start time on your recording shouldn't be attributed to the HDD/SSD, however. It would be in regards to the program itself starting up the recording - if the PC needs to turn itself on to record, you should tell the machine to turn itself on 5-10 minutes early. The startup time may be your issue. |

I did tell the Window Media Center to start recording 5 min early and it didnt work. I am now starting all over with a clean install and see. I use SiliconDust Tuner. Maybe my router is slow? |

Anyway, @chong67: All the stuff you list should have a latency in the range of milliseconds and spinning up a drive not more than 5 secs. Plus the software probably buffers content to memory before writing to disk. Your issue must be something else. I have no idea what but I don't think this drive is the solution. Better email customer support or find a forum for your device. |
