Corn cob litter ***update post 20***

Need some help please, can anyone recommend a corn based kitty litter? The company who sold the brand of litter our cat uses has quit selling it and no one else carries it now.

What was the name of the brand you were using?

No idea about the litter, but I did make some corn cob jelly a couple weeks ago. It turned out great! Very pretty color and it is very tasty on a buttered biscuit.

Corn Cob wine is next on my list. Ive drank it before and its very tasty also but Ive never made it. I have the recipe and its pretty simple, I guess we will see in about 10 weeks.

Clump 'N Flush. Our 18 year old cat has been using it for years and I really don't want to try to switch him to a clay or other type of litter at this stage in his life.

We tried one brand, Natures Miracle but it stinks (when you open the bag), doesn't have that fresh corn smell that the Clump 'N Flush does. I put some in his litter box and after he used the box the thing reeked of a musty/mildew smell so it's going back to the store for a refund.

World's Best Cat Litter [worldsbestcatlitter.com] is corn-based. I thought I remembered that from when we used to get free bags with coupons from Petsmart. Our cats seemed to like it but it was on the pricey side.

Thanks! I'll give that a try. They have a rebate offer on their website for a free 7 or 8 pound bag.

We use the Arm and Hammer natural cat litter and really like it. Though I'm not sure if it's flushable or not.

Don't flush it if you are near the sea as it has stuff in it that can effect marine animals & is not filtered out in sewage plants.

Hmm, I'm a little leery simply because our cat has weird skin allergies/problems so not sure about having baking soda in his litter. The flushing thing isn't that big of a deal as the litter can go in the trash if needs be. This might be a good backup option though if the one VQ suggested doesn't work out. Thanks Mal.

I checked into that and had our vet check our cats, they don't carry the worm that can cause problems for salmon and other fish. Probably because they've always been indoor kitties, they never got a chance to pick up that worm and their mom must not have had it either cause she didn't transmit it to them when they were babies.

Oh! Was "flushable" a requirement? I never did that & don't know if World's Best can go down the toilet. You'll have to do your own homework on that one, ZM.

I should have said at the beginning, it doesn't have to be flushable, even though that makes life easier.
