I haven't found myself receiving any more spam from these free subscriptions than the paid ones. Most publishers rent out their subscriber lists anyway.

Occasionally I'll get an email from freebizmag, mercury magazines, or whatever, telling me about some new offer. But again, that's no different from any other website I might register with. Use a secondary email address if you wish.

Some folks do say they believe they get email spam from these freebie offers. I don't know myself, I either use a disposable email address (10minutemail, mailinator etc) or the email address I set up specifically for offers like this, in case they do spam me.

I've been signing up for these freebie offers for years and years and I haven't noticed an increase in junk mail in my actual mailbox.

But, that's just been my experience.

I've gotten several free magazine from mercury and they are pretty quick. Definitely less then 8 weeks. More like 3-4 weeks.

That's just my experience though, yours may be different
