Like New - A "like new"" item sold on Warehouse Deals is in perfect condition, but due to the condition of the packaging, it does not meet Amazon.com standards for new product. For customer-returned product, it's possible that the previous customer opened and removed the product from the original packaging. If a returned item comes back in perfect physical condition and through our testing process we determine the working condition is perfect, the item may be deemed "like new." Physical damage to the outer box of a factory-sealed item in our warehouse can also lead to the condition being taken from Amazon.com "new" to Warehouse Deals "like new." Very Good - If an item has been tested and verified to be in perfect working order but it has cosmetic damage or blemishes, shows slight signs of use, has minor accessories missing, or the packaging has been replaced to better protect the item, we will assign the condition of "very good." As for Squaretrade, 1 year is $45. |

Most of the stuff thats "used-like new" isn't used at all. It either had damaged packaging or it was sent out and returned either completely unopened or the box was opened but the contents weren't unpacked. Some have lost their packaging entirely and will show 'item may come repackaged'. Used - very good showing item damage and packaging damage is probably something that fell off a shelf or was crushed in the warehouse. Depending on what it is, that may not matter. For example, I buy all of my dog toys from the warehouse and my dogs could give a ^%$@# if the box is ripped.
I only came across one exception to this, and that was buying a Wii 'used-like new' and it was about 4 years old, still had the prior users stuff on it and his SD card stuck in it, and it had blue crayon all over it. But when I alerted Amazon about the condition they refunded half the purchase price. So electronics might be iffy, but I've probably bought 100 items from the warehouse and all but that one the item was perfect, appeared to have never been opened or used, and my only complaint is that some items are overpriced...like when you can buy it legitimately new for less than 'used - like new'. |

It's around $300 less than the early 2012 MBP. Computationally speaking, the processors aren't especially different- 10 to 15% on most tasks. The integrated graphics, however, are where you get more for your money: HD4000 beats HD3000 by a mile. If you want to play some games on low-med, go for the new model. This one, however, is fine for basic use (but why you'd buy a Mac for browsing and Word is beyond me).

This is a pretty good deal for a macbook pro. Of course you may have to take your chances. I bought the mba 13 2011 for 850 a month and a half ago (now at 1040 for just good cond) in very good condition. It was basically brand new, with all accessories plastic wrap. 0 cycles on the battery and with the 1 year applecare when i registered. I also just got my mountain lion code from apple for the free upgrade. A mac for browsing and word is just fine. Browsing on a mac is a joy

Same one is $929 at the apple refurb store. Once received you should be able to reset warranty for one year Pretty slick. In for 1.
