DEAD Apple MacBook Pro MD313LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop (OLD VERSION) - Amazon Warehouse "Used-Very Good" - $807 "Used-Like New" - $825

Here is my experience with "Like New" Macbook products.

First, the machine has been reset to default setting from the OS X disc. What this means is that you will no longer have iLife included if the previously used and returned machine has been registered. Apple registers iLife to the person who first registers the new machine. Also, the Apple manufactures limited warranty is activated from the time the computer is registered to the previous "owner". So this means the 90 day clock is already running when you purchase the laptop. This is the reason you are being offered a discount.

You can find iLife rather cheaply and if you plan on buying the Apple Protection plan you can extend the warranty but know what you are getting into.

This isn't a PC deal. It's an Apple deal. So comparing the 2 doesn't really help us here.

This seems warm at best. I just picked up the 2012 MBP for 999+tax from Fry's. That deal is dead tho.

I think most people would be better served by a Macbook Air unless your usage scenario really requires the quad core capabilities the SSD in the Air would make it feel snappier in a lot of regular daily use.

Will Amazon charge me a restocking fee if I get it and want to return it? Just concerned I'll get one with no warranty or that isn't "new looking".

I buy Used - Like New conditions from Amazon all the time. Even their 'Used - Very Good' is fairly good.

You can always return the item saying it is not as described if it does not fit what you had expected!

why is this so much more expensive than a non mac laptop with similar specs? genuine question. seems like a steep price to pay, i've seen i7 laptop's going for less.
