You can create an account here, but you need work email address of a participating employer.

I believe you need to be part of a company that participates in the panasonic EPP program. You would need to login to the EPP to see the correct price.

I saw instruction on SD somewhere on how to sign up for EPP even if the company you work for isn't a participant in it.

Yes, you need an employee sponsored EPP account. If your employer gives you a passport.com card, that EPP will work too (atleast it did for me).

Does anyone here own this camera? Can they give us a first hand account of the pics and video? I owned the Panny ZS7 for a few short months but had to get rid of it due to terrible picture quality and video that was just okay. I then bought a Sony HX9v and once again, horrible pictures, about the worst I've seen from a digital camera, great video though. I just haven't seen good pics from any of these "travel zoom" cameras, but I keep hoping a good one is going to be released someday...

Maybe you should try cameras like S95/100, LX5, etc.

Those two models are not really "travel zoom" cameras with only 3.8x zooms, but your advice is noted and appreciated. I have consideed the panny LX5 and might still pick one up if I can get it for a slickdeal.

I agree with the above poster, try out something like the Canon S100. You'll lose zoom, but the camera is capable of great IQ. They tend to be slow on the telephoto end, aside from the XZ-1.
