Carnival and Royal Carribean are more specialized for kids, and of course Disney. NCL has a more adult crowd generally, although there are kids programs and activities.

Agreed depends on the ship and your itineraries... some ships provide a lot guest activities for days at sea (you are most likely will not be in your room when your ship arrives at port- however, some of the places that I visit regularly, sometimes I would stay on ship to enjoy the peacefulness when others are out).

Make sure that you look for the ship that target to your taste, some are family/kids oriented, some are for retirement... you don't want to be in the wrong crowds and it may ruin your vacation. I remember a few years ago I took my kids to an Alaskan cruise and it was for retired folks. We got the unfriendly look everywhere we went even though my kids are very well behaved

we have taken our daughter on several cruises and she has loved every one. going on NCL Epic in December. We have also done the newer Carnival ships (Miracle). Also check out the RCCL Oasis and Allure ships. If you're bored on a cruise then u don't know how to have fun.

can you do a cheap cruise and still get the $100? I see a $239 per person bahamas cruise (3 or 4 nights) leaving out of FL. would that qualify?

can you use the credit in the casino and then just cash out right after?

Listen, if you can't read the op's post please don't act like a smart ass... The op clearly states that they got the 100 applied even before the brochure arrived by calling their travel agent. Please do not respond again if you are not going to be helpful.

I waited two days then called my TA them told him about the offer. He called NCL to get my NEW latitude number with the credit and then asked them to merge the accounts thus moving it over to my existing booking. Not too sure if they will do it if you are within final payment but you need to work that out with your TA.

Oh ok, so I need to have a latitude acct? What do you mean by winthin final payment? We have already paid for everything I think. I will try to call the agency tomorrow. Thanks for your help!

How about calling the phone number in the fine print and talking to NCL...is that helpful sweetheart?

Found this deal on a cruise site, thought some of you could use it too.

Go to HSN.com type: "NCL" into the search bar. Apply for the booklet.

Fine print says new bookings and you have to wait for the booklet to come in the mail. BUT , thousands have been successful in applying it to a current booking.

You do not need:
• The Brochure or the letter
• To call your TA
• Never do you need to cancel-rebook regardless of what you are told see above(Repeat the process)
• Past booked cruises are OK and will be applied
• To lose any other OBC's

If you are told you do, then call again until you get the right answer.

Ordered brochure through HSN
Waited a few days
CALL: 1-866-234-7459
$100 Applied.

Called NCL Direct whether booked thru NCL or a TA
Number of some kind was found for your account by the receptionist
OBC was applied
If you are told any different than above bullets then:
Ask for a supervisor
Call again and get a different agent
Repeat the process


The credit shows up in your my NCL summary go to www.ncl2.com unless you called your TA for this, which is why I say go direct to NCL for this credit.

It is NCL policy that when your resevation changes, i.e a credit then a new confirmation will and should be e-mailed to you.

Sounds like a good deal. How long did you wait to call the number? Who is the number (HSN, or NCL)? Did you just say something like, "Hi, I applied for an OBC and I want to make sure it gets credited to my account?" and they worked their magic?
