I have one of these for resetting my emission error code that comes up every other week (my State doesn't check for emission anyway). I never used the CD but just google the CEL code and you'll get a pretty good explanation on the problem.

Every time this comes up - if you have an android smartphone, just get a bluetooth wireless elm327 for a bit less than this, maybe even half, and use the free Torque app (or the $5 paid version).

I bought one of these [amazon.com]. It is awesome when paired with an android smartphone/tablet and the Torque app. It even displays some real-time data and functions as more than just a simple code reader.

If you have an Android phone, you really can't do much better than a Bluetooth OBD II reader + Torque. All of these code readers look like piddling toys in comparison. |

Wow this is a very good deal. I paid $60 for a similar product not too long ago. Very handy. Will pay for itself easily if you only use it once. When buying a used car with my friends, I bring this with to test the car out. Pretty easy to use.

This is a great deal for what it is.
I think most would agree, though, that Bluetooth with the Torque app is the way to go. High wages are not sending jobs over seas. High taxes are.
