Unless, of course, there is a possibility that the large monitor makes you more productive and pays for itself.

Or, perhaps, if you are spending 3,000+ per year using your computer and want to make your working environment more comfortable.

I don't get why some people want to tell others what to get. It's not your money and no one gives a sh*t about your opinion. With that said, I wouldn't get this cause of the input lag people are complaining about.

Do these have the same AG problem the 27's suffer from? I haven't seen one IRL so I can't tell if this would bug me a lot or not.

I rather get 3 catleaps for surround if im going to spend so much on display.

My graphics card only have hdmi port. Does this mean that I can't get 2560*1440 res? Isn't hdmi supposed to be 1920*1080 at max?

No, your card won't support this. You'll need a dual-link DVI port or a DisplayPort for full-resolution. On the bright side, a compatible video card is only ~10% of the cost of this monitor

And spending 2-3x that on a MacBook Pro isn't? You could buy a similarly spec'd PC for way less, blah blah blah... (and I own a PC)

There are people out there who simply place a higher priority on display quality / size / resolution than you do. I know guys who will dump $1200 on a pair of new video cards, and then hook them up to a $130 monitor. To each his own.
