Anyone seeing any issues with the rebate? Someone over on urlhasbeenblocked said this drive wasn't on the rebate form and the rebate wouldn't be honored. I am at work and the rebate site is blocked so I can't check. I looked through this thread but didn't see anything, normally SDers are good about catching it, so I'm not too worried, and even at pre-rebate prices, this isn't bad for an older laptop replacement drive. Just wondering.

Spreading BS? How am I spreading BS when I am quoting manufacturer's information. I mentioned any website because retailers like Newegg and Amazon, etc will post information from actual manufacturers rather than linking some guy's blog. Do you really think yourself and the guy from the blog has more knowledge and experience than folks at the research center?

Even the blog guy said his opinion is based on "Intel X25-E grade" which has 2,000,000 hours of life span; 5 years, this is considered one of the longest lifespan in the SSD market. There are many SSDs out there with less than 2,000,000 hours. Like popular crucial M4 and Intel 330 have only 1,200,000 hours of lifespan which is equivalent to 3 years. Of course, you will be likely to use your SSD for longer than rated 3 years since the lifespan is rated at 20GB writes per day. But my point is that the SSD is a finite thing which might be shorter than you think.

I know there's better overall SSDs out there, but for someone thinking of getting in at the entry level, it might be a good option.
