It isn't an awful deal, but I wouldn't describe it as hot either. The kit lens is mediocre in regards to image quality, and the sixty d will be replaced within the next few months. I have a sixty d and i think it is great, but this isn't the most tempting deal I have seen.

this is pretty much the lowest price around for just the Canon 60D with 18-200mm lens bundle from a canon authorized dealer.
seems pretty slick to see the new canon 40mm f/2.8 stm lens included

will the 70D come first or the 7DmarkII?

They are updating the firmware for the 7D in August, so, I'd be the answer to your question is the 70D. But, the 70D will probably end up being pretty similar to what the 7D is right now

I agree with preppyak. I doubt they are manufactured at the same site... but it seems that Canon cannot produce enough t4i's or 5d mkiii's to meet demand. It is possible they decided to allocate their production resources to these two bodies and consequently the 70D and 7D mkii or the entry level full-frame are getting pushed back.

I know there are rumors... but I don't know that there is going to be a release date anytime in the immediate future.

Take everything with a grain of salt... but I think you are right. I hear the 7D doesn't have the best auto focus... so I have some concerns that the problems may not have been fixed.

I'm not so sure that a 4mp upgrade, digic 4 to 5, and 11 points to 19 is really enough to make me switch.

I'm intrigued... but my 60D still has a TON of life left in it.

Its not really the kit lens. Its the 550$ lens plus another 200$ lens.

the 18-200 lens is a GREAT lens for walkaround and leaving it on the camera.

no, its not the fastest or the sharpest, but it will let you get the shot without having to fumble around with a bag full of lenses while you miss the shot.

I have thousands in lenses and I use this one the most.

It isn't the 18-135mm, but it is a kit lens... & it is specifically the kit lens in this box. Kit lens isn't a dirty word. The 24-105mm is a kit lens.

Yeah, I remember when I realized that a helicopter was going to fly under a bridge I started feverishly fumbling with a lens change. I got the lens cap off right after it had already cleared the bridge. I should have just shot with the lens I had on and cropped, but a 200mm lens on the camera, ANY 200mm lens would have been nice.

Boy this is tempting. If I could net $600 for the body after selling the lenses... It just isn't quite there.

But it is also an L lens.

So this deal is approximately only a free 40mm ($199 MSRP current retail) thrown in over the 60d+18-200 kit, give or take $50 or so.
I called them to see it I could get this price with the Pixma printer included, but the rep said no. I only tried once.
