You DO have the choice to not buy mp3s from Amazon, you can buy the physical disc with cash at a local store, then rip it at home, and then no one has to know that you bought it

I'm with Frogstar on this. I don't understand the issue. It's not like Amazon is telling you that you can ONLY have the files on the cloud server. I don't see any downside of having the files on the cloud server IN ADDITION to having them on your own computer.

These aren't "your" files. You might have an argument if you'd had anything to do with the production of these, but you're essentially complaining about them still having the copies of the mp3s you're downloading on their servers.

I don't comprehend the logic of your complaint. These MP3 files were already sitting on Amazon's Cloud servers before you ordered them. Regardless of whether the user interface to download them requires you to launch "Cloud Player", the files are being downloaded from Amazon's Cloud servers.

In any case, if you want to simplify the process of downloading future MP3 purchases to your computer:
on Amazon.com, go to Your Account -> Your Amazon MP3 Settings. Under "Your Download Setting", select "Your MP3 purchases made on this computer will be automatically downloaded from Amazon Cloud Player"

If you like rock music, this is a must have!!!!! Awesome album

I didn't have to go thru the cloud player first. I was prompted to update the down loader, then after that clicked the one click thingy, then two options popped up...go to cloud player or download. I downloaded and all the tracks went to my Amazon music folder I set up. Easy peasy.

Oh, btw, many Rush CDs are currently $5 (or less) on Amazon.

You had the option to download to your own local folder... not this time...

Didn't have that option this morning... It went straight to cloud player...

There's a glitch in Amazon, where sometimes it keeps telling you that you have to update the Amazon Downloader even if you already have the latest version installed and running. In that scenario, the "Download" button is disabled, and you have to go through the Cloud Player.

I really like Rush in the 70's when they "rocked".
I really did not like Rush starting in the early 80's when they were more into synthesizers instead of guitars/real drums.

Would be nice to hear raw bass/guitar/drums from them again....but I am skeptical.
I would rather not listen at all than listen and be disappointed (like I have been with latter Rush, Aerosmith, Van Halen, ZZ Top, and others).
